    Taking some time to celebrate, experience and appreciate
    living on the shores of Lake Superior.

    All events at Town Hall & Pavilion unless noted.

    8am – Bird watching and photography hike with Rick Burkman and Wayne Rundell.
    Meet at the main door of the Town Hall for orientation and directions.

    9am-1pm – Saturday Market & Vendors
    Start your day at our Saturday Market and see what all the vendors
    have for sale today!

    9am-Noon – Exhibits at Town Hall
    Displays from Iron River National Fish Hatchery,
    Port Wing as a Bird City Wisconsin, Everett’s Fisheries, Barn Quilt Trail,
    Port Wing Area Business Association & Tourism

    9-10am – Tour of Everett’s Fisheries
    Come to the Smokehouse on 9250 Sunnyside Lane and see how
    the fish from Lake Superior get transformed into
    delicious smoked herring, whitefish and salmon
    available at Johnson’s Store in Port Wing

    9am-Noon – Coast Guard boat on display at Town Hall

    Speaking on “Beneath the Feathers: A Peek Into the Seedier Side of our Avian Friends”
    Rick Burkman never lost his childhood fascination with the hidden lives of birds.
    Writing natural history articles for national and regional magazines, newspapers,
    and even a couple of books has given him many opportunities to fuel his passion.
    Here he explores the secret–and sometimes sinister–side of a few of our well-known birds,
    including surprised from our own back yards.

    10:45-11:30 – Tracy Hames, Executive Director, Wisconsin Wetlands Association
    Learn what a wetland is, how and why they form, and where you can find them.
    Learn about the many different kinds of wetlands found in Wisconsin.
    Learn about the benefits wetlands provide to Wisconsin’s waters, wildlife, and people.

    12Noon-2pmFish Boil, sponsored by the Port Wing Area Business Association
    Town Hall

    12:30-1:30pm – Tracy Hames leading a wetland hike/driving tour of 4-5 different wetlands
    along Beach Road, Quarry Road, and Twin Falls Park.
    Meet at the main door of the Town Hall

    1-4pm – Port Wing Museum Open

    1:30-3:30pm – Greg Weiss, Lost Creek Adventures – Stand Up Paddleboard Lesson
    RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!
    Meet at Port Wing Marina for approximately 30 minutes of instruction, then paddle for 1.5-2 hours.
    $25 per person, 8 people maximum for this event.
    We would cancel if the weather is too windy or very rainy.

    3-5pm – Kayak the Flag River to Bibon Lake with Don Baughman
    Meet at the harbor boat landing, bring your own kayak and safety gear.
    This is not a lesson – excursion only.

    7pm – Bonfire at Port Wing Marina
    Stargazing at the Marina!

    The Arrowhead Astronomical Society from Duluth will bring their telescopes
    and point out stars and constellations in the skies over Lake Superior.
