Holiday Lighting Contest

The Port Wing Area Business Association has hopes of a bright holiday season in Port Wing. The Association is sponsoring a holiday lighting contest open to all residents and businesses within the boundaries of Port Wing Township.

The contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior. Judging will be done from outside the residence only and be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street or driveway only.

Entries are due by Monday, November 30th. Addresses for all entries will be listed on a map, which will be posted on the Port Wing Business Association’s website, on www.facebook.com/PortWingBusiness, and at Johnson’s Store.

Ballots for People’s choice will be on the back of the map.

People’s Choice Ballots must be deposited to the Ballot Box at Johnson’s Store by the end of business Thursday, December 31st.

Judging will take place in the early evening on Sunday, December 20th. Winners will be listed in the post-Christmas Publication of the Connection.

Four prizes will be given: $100 for first place, $75 for second place, $50 for third place. The People’s Choice winner will receive $25 in “Port Wing Bucks” to use at any Port Wing business.

Criteria for Judging
· Originality and arrangement: Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
· Theme: Storyline or scene
· Curb appeal: WoW effect on viewers! This can be traditional displays or the “Griswold” effect of lighting up the whole neighborhood
