Port Wing Historical Society Museum
Port Wing is proud of Heritage Hall constructed during our 2001 centennial year. It is located in School Memorial Park in the center of town.
Heritage Hall is a local history resource center and home of the Port Wing lending library and book exchange.
Our museum features local artifacts and an extensive photographic display depicting the settlement and growth of Port Wing with emphasis on the lumbering, quarrying, agriculture and commercial fishing industries.
Our museum complex includes 3 buildings, Heritage Hall, 1896 Jail and the Booth Fisheries office.
In Memorial Park is a state historical marker honoring Port Wing as the first consolidated school to provide free transportation.
One of Wisconsin's first school buses, horse drawn and know as a "school rig", stands in the park along with an early mail sled.
